Purchase cost survey {no saving, no fee}

This service is aimed at manufacturing and service companies alike and can include commodities, utilities or services. The purpose is to reduce the total purchasing cost to the business. It is initiated through a free, no obligation, survey to establish the areas in which savings can be achieved. In larger companies this process can address a relevant but limited range of commodities as a feasibility study to determine the potential worth of further work, without interfering in the Client’s daily routine more than is absolutely necessary. A Client may specify additional points of relevance to her organisation, e.g. a desire to extend credit terms to improve cash flow, or alternatively to obtain early settlement discounts; or there may be certain currencies you would prefer to pay for goods in.

We will forecast anticipated savings / improvements from our initial survey and only then will you decide whether to engage our services.

If you would like to go ahead we are happy to proceed working on either a daily rate normally between £350 - £500 per person per day. Alternatively we may work on shared savings, or a combination of both. We would normally take approximately 25% of the savings implemented for the first 12 months. The important thing to note is that we take a flexible approach to charges so that it is both relevant to the work undertaken and, more importantly, to Client’s budgets.

We can limit the area scope of suppliers within the UK, Europe or Worldwide, dependant on your needs and preferences. In the event that our survey suggests we predominantly involve new suppliers to you we will agree quarterly payments over six months to demonstrate both a confidence in our selection along with a commitment to working with you to monitor the new supply partner.

Contract Renewal

The Contract renewal service is an extension of the purchasing cost survey. In essence it is a performance review of suppliers taking into account currency fluctuations, new technologies or new suppliers we have introduced. We suggest that this may be beneficial every 6 –12 months from the initial changes. This will be executed in accordance with your instructions and requirements which themselves may have developed. This service should take less time than the initial survey. Although developed as a follow-up to the purchasing cost survey, it can be offered to cover items where Client’s own purchasing teams do not have time to review the contracts.

Special Projects / Products

In the present climate where staff numbers are minimised, companies frequently have more special projects than resources to carry them out. We can supply extra pairs of hands to perform a range of purchasing and related functions such as project sourcing; ethical audits; importation; on-site inspection; or evaluating group synergies for multi-site clients. We can also help evaluate potential supply chains if your company is considering re-locating or product diversification. You may wish, or have customer pressure to use recycled or more sustainable materials in your products production. As always, the service provided and terms will be bespoke and within available budgets.

Out-Sourced Purchasing

As well as special projects, you may wish to out-source all or part of your purchasing requirements. We can contract to deliver value from negotiation through to order placing. We will ensure that goods / services are in-line with your companies polices and fit for purpose. Perhaps of particular benefit to small and medium sized businesses where spend is significant but does not warrant employing purchasing specialists. However, this service may also prove beneficial for large companies wherein specific products or services may be economically out-sourced. As this service involves spending your money, we take this very seriously and ensure that adequate requisition systems and financial limitations / restraints to make you and your auditors feel comfortable are in place. We can carry out this service off-site and report in as required or work from customer’s premises, as preferred. We are happy to build the system to your best advantage.

Interim Management / Staff cover

Temporary staff at all levels can be expensive when hired through agencies. We can help with long or short-term cover at affordable rates. GPS will make available personable, reliable people with relevant experience.
